About
Hi, I’m Cece. I’m a self-taught designer living in Chicago, IL. Previously in Oakland, CA.
I got my start in college dorm rooms working for various friends’ startups. After resisting the draw toward banking or consulting, I ended up in the Bay Area working for companies large and small. Looking back, I love that I still get to use the products I worked on almost every day! I also appreciate the challenging times, especially those that taught me to be kinder to myself, less afraid, and more open-hearted.
My freelance work today has helped me to become more decisive in my craft, as well as a better project manager. As a designer, I consider myself a true generalist – able to solve all kinds of gnarly interaction problems while exercising good taste and judgement – but I also aware of how to work with talented specialists in illustration and animation to bring the work further.
I’m optimistic about technology’s impact on industry and daily life. Whether in healthcare, law, education, fashion, fintech, construction, or humanitarian aid (all topics I’ve gotten to touch in the last 4 years), I enjoy going deep within new domains and making order out of complexity. Variety excites me, but so do passionate teams working for a long time on hard problems.
